When it was announced Joss Whedon would be producing a musical (which would end up being Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog), Joel depicted a comic where Josh dressed up and took off to impress Mr. Whedon with his Jazz Hands. The phrase, "Godspeed, You Fancy Bastard" quickly took hold in the fan community, so much so that Joel soon had enough demand to create a shirt, with that same quote. By this time the fan base was already referred to as the Fancy Bastards, although when the shirt was released, Joel declared that any HijiNKS ENSUE reader who wore that shirt officially became a Fancy Bastard, because they would be unable to explain to any non-HE reader what in the world that quote meant. The HijiNKS ENSUE Forums have been named after the Fancy Bastards, to signify them as a home for the HijiNKS ENSUE fan community.
